Tibetan Maternal and Child Health System Resource Textbooks
Collaborating with both Kumbum Tibetan Medical Hospital and mSo-Ngon (Qinghai) University Tibetan Medical College to: 1) write and publish complementary textbooks for health professionals and medical students in pediatric, gynecologic and obstetric care 2) create Tibetan-language public health education and training materials for low-literate rural women. Training of Trainers (TOT)
After publication of Tibetan Maternal and Child Health System Resource Textbooks, THF will invite 25 to 30 Tibetan physicians, teachers and scholars to the Birth Center in Rebkong to review these new textbooks and create a standard training curriculum for training Tibetan community midwives in the Tibetan regions. Training includes providing trainers with a step-by-step curriculum and course design for delivering trainingto trainers of healthcare services providers such as community midwives, health educators and facility-based healthcare providers. Community Health Assessment
Providing a basis on which to design and evaluate health, nutrition and education projects. Reports 96% of women gave birth at home, of these women, 95%delivered without the assistance of trained health personnel. 0% had heard of Hepatitis B, STIs, HIV and AIDS. More >>
